Thanks to an Arizona Game & Fish Department Heritage Grant the
Sonoran Sea
Aquarium staff is developing new curriculum about the invasive
aquatic wildlife infecting our streams, rivers and lakes.
Students will learn about the damages Crayfish, Bullfrogs, Zebra
Mussels and even New Zealand Mudsnails inflict on our Desert Waters
and native species.
Selected classes/students will be invited to attend Crayfish
harvesting expeditions to local lakes and streams. For more

SARSEF 2007 WINNER
Brianna Jensen, a 4th grader at Richardson Elementary in the
Flowing Wells School District, won first place in the Ocean Science
Division of the 2007 Southern Arizona Regional Science and
Engineering Fair (SARSEF). Brianna's project was entitled "Ocean
Water as a Source to Grow Our Food." All Ocean Science related
projects were judged by the Director of Education of the Sonoran Sea
Aquarium. Brianna was awarded a Sonoran Sea Aquarium Certificate of
achievement, a glass sculpture of a Cortez Angel and a $50 check. A

KIDS
The Sonoran Sea Aquarium
and the KISSEA KIDS have partnered up to bring a powerful message to
our community to show kids how they can save their most precious
natural resource: their oceans.

Partnership
The
Sonoran Sea Aquarium, Arizona Sonora Desert Museum and the
Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch program have formed a
partnership to bring a sustainable seafood program to our community.
